Event Planning at Lyndon
Putting on an event at Lyndon is a great opportunity to bring the community together and to gain valuable experience as an individual or group. The SGA and Advisor are here to help you with all of the steps in that process and are happy to meet with you to go over any questions or needs you may have.
Steps to Planning an Event:
Check out the 7 steps to planning an event. Keep in mind the information that is outlined in the document and the questions you should be asking yourself as you plan your event.
Event Planning 101 Worksheet:
Use this Event Planning 101 Worksheet to begin planning your event. This will help have a very clear purpose and intent of the event, and help clubs consider their audience for the event. This also has clubs looking into their resources and budget restraints, leading to very strong events.
Advertising:
Most clubs advertise via posters. Any posters from an SGA-affiliated club must include the SGA Logo on them. ALL posters that are posted on SALC boards must also be approved by SGA before they are posted, including those that are not affiliated with SGA/SGA affiliated clubs. Any unapproved posters will be taken down.
If clubs want to advertise on The Buzz, they must put their event in the Lyndon Campus Events spreadsheet, as this is what is referenced when The Buzz is made. If a club does not have access to this spreadsheet, please reach out to SGA at LyndonSGA@vermontstate.edu.
If clubs want to advertise using the weekly all-student activities email, they should reach out to Elizabeth Sousa at Elizabeth.Sousa@vermontstate.edu. Please give ample time for her to add this to the email, and try to keep in mind that the emails are usually sent out on Wednesdays.
