Student Government Association
Vermont State University - Lyndon
The VTSU- Lyndon Student Government Association (SGA) strives to promote the academic, social, and general welfare of all students at Lyndon. The SGA accepts and encourages the interest of our students through student run clubs, activities, and inter murals. Alongside clubs, the SGA is also responsible for how nearly half of the Student Activity Fee is spent; including, but not limited too, the budget allocation for each individual club.
The SGA is manned by the SGA Executive Board. There are four seats on our executive board; President, Executive Vice President, Financial Controller, and Administrative Vice President. These members of the SGA are elected by the student body into their positions each Spring.
Following the Executive Board is our elected representatives. The SGA can have up to 3 elected representatives in each of the following categories, commuters, non-traditional students, and classes. The SGA is also allocated 1 international student representative. The duty of an elected representative is to bring concerns to the SGA for their affiliated representation and report all information from SGA general board meetings to their affiliated representation. Elected Representatives are elected by the student body for their positions each Spring.
Following the elected representatives are club representatives. Each SGA affiliated club is required to have an SGA representative on their executive board. The duty of a club representative is to bring a club update to SGA general board meetings and report to their affiliated clubs all important information and events regarding SGA. All club representatives are voted on and elected within their individual clubs at the beginning of the academic year.
SGA Meetings are held every other Wednesday night in the Moore Community Room, ASAC 100, and are open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members.
